Day 18 and 19: Seattle

Arrived late to Seattle. Caught the sun setting over the distant Olympic Mountains.

Pike Street Fish Market and St. James Cathedral were our stops the following morning. Rented a couple of inner tubes and floated down the Snoqualmie river. Lazy.

Turned the van towards the East and the Long Way Home.

Following day we hiked up to Bridal Veil Falls in the Mount Baker/Snoqualmie National Forest. Drove across the plateau between Seattle and Spokane. Huge sky. Very much felt like we were in the Old West.

On our way to Glacier National Park.

This is Mount Rainer as seen from downtown Seattle. It dominates the southern horizon from 70 km away. We stood right beside it the day before and couldn't see a thing. Harrumph.
